Don’t forget the Young Author deadline is approaching fast! Be sure your child’s masterpiece fulfills all Young Author requirements and is turned in accompanied by a signed permission slip. Guidelines and permission slips can be found on the Blythe Park ebackpack. 3rd grade books were due Friday, March 5th and all other grades are due Wednesday, March 17th. Happy writing!

It is time for students of District 96 to create their Young Author books. For all the program details, see the attached flyers. Young Author books are required writing assignments for some classes and optional writing project for other classes. Any questions, contact your classroom teacher.

Calling all authors! It is time to place your order for Bare Books. Bare Books are hardcover books with lined or unlined pages. They are a great way for students to publish their stories by either writing and drawing directly in the book or cutting and pasting printed work. They are especially helpful in creating Young Author Books. Here’s what you do to place an order. First, print an order form from the attached file or go to Blythe’s e-backpack. Next, put your completed order form together with your payment of exact money or check payable to Riverside Public Schools with Young Authors in the memo. Finally, return the order form and payment to your child’s teacher no later than Friday, November 20th. Happy writing!

Blythe Park PTA invites you to come celebrate Blythe Park’s Young Authors on Thursday, March 19th from 3:15pm-4:15pm. Storyteller/Drama Teacher Mel Ludington will return to Blythe Park to read and/or act out six of this year’s Young Author books. All children in attendance will help bring the stories to life with their acting. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Any questions, contact Lisa Gaynor at 708-442-4509
