Hauser PTA’s Annual Soup’s On Family Dinner will be held on Thursday, January 21, 5-7 p.m., in the Hauser Jr. High Cafeteria, 65 Woodside Road. Family, friends, community members: Please join us for a fun and delicious dinner of homemade soups, breads, and desserts. The cost of the dinner is $5.00 by advance purchase, or $7.00 at the door. Please make checks payable to “Hauser PTA” and drop your check off to PTA mailbox in the Hauser school office. Advance purchase tickets reserved in your name may be picked up at the door on the night of the event.This year, we have a couple of NEW and EXCITING silent auction items!
Kids and Families…you are invited to Trick or Treat in participation Downtown Riverside on Friday, October 30th from 3:00-5:00pm. If you painted a Halloween window, come search for you window and Trick or Treat at the same time!
It is time to paint the Halloween windows in downtown Riverside. This year, Elliot Louthen, a Boy Scout and RBHS student has taken over the project and is coordinating it for the completion of his Eagle Scout project. Here are the details:
•It’s free
•We’ll be painting on one day Saturday, October 17th from 8am-4pm, on paper, at Riverside Township Hall, and those paintings will be hung in the windows
•Program available to students in Grades 1-5 from any District 96 school and St. Mary’s
•Registration deadline is Friday, October 9th.
•Registration form below or available at the two other sites listed below.

Interested in a mid September through mid March swim team for your school age child? The Riverside-Brookfield Otter Swim Team is available for children age 6 thru high school. Registration will take place September 14th and 15th outside the Riverside-Brookfield pool. For more details, see the attachments below.
Tickets are available now for the Riverside Elementary Education Foundation (REEF) Lincoln event, 7:00 pm Thursday, September 24, 2009, Chew Chew Café in Riverside, featuring Dr. Orville Vernon Burton as he discusses his book, The Age of Lincoln.
For more information or to make a reservation to attend this exciting event please see the attached REEF Lincoln Event flyer. Dr. Burton’s book will be available for sale and signing at this event.
In addition, please check out the portrait of Abraham Lincoln by world famous artist and Illinois native Mr. George Colon on display at the Riverside Public Library. This piece is valued at over $800.00 and raffle tickets are on sale at the Riverside Public Library or from any REEF board member for $10.00 a ticket. The raffle will take place at the September 24 event and winner need not be present to win.
