Each winter, Blythe Park PTA organizes the Junior Great Books Lunch-time Junior Book Club. This year’s six week lunch-time book club will start in February. The lunch-time book club is available for grades 1st-5th. If your child is interested in participating, please fill out the attached sign-up and return to the school office by Wednesday, February 3rd. Any questions, please contact Magan McCarthy at 443-5681 or Josie Diaz-Pope at 442-8272.

You’re invited to Blythe Park’s February PTA meeting! The meeting is this Friday, February 5th at 9:00am in the gym. Come find out about PTA’s February and March events. This month’s parent education topic will be gaining insights into school spending. Superintendent Dr. Jon Lamberson will educate us on this topic. Babysitting will be available. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you!

For those of you with children born between September 2, 2004 and February 18, 2007, the District will be holding pre-school screening o February 18th and February 19th. If you are interested, in having your child screened, please contact Corri Marchuk for an appointment at 708-447-2168.

Bring your family out to enjoy a Chicago Steel Game on Friday, February 19th. Tickets are $7.00 per person and game time is 7:30pm. Blythe Park PTA receives a $2.00 donation for each ticket sold and this year the top selling classroom will receive free tickets to a future Chicago Steel Home game. Please see the attached flyer and ticket order form. All tickets orders are due back to Blythe Park by Friday, February 12th. Contact Becky Malloy at 442-4570 with any questions.

Blythe Park School Student Council and PTA is having a SHOE DRIVE for SHARE YOUR SOLES.
Share Your Soles (http://www.shareyoursoles.org/) is a non-profit organization that provides gently worn shoes to those in greatest need around the world.
We are collecting gently used shoes until Feb. 5. Shoe drop off is in front of the office.
Please be sure that the shoes are washed and gently worn. (no holes, still have soles & not worn off on bottom)
And… Don’t forget about the PAPER SHOE DRIVE.
1. Students must do a task or good deed for which they will be paid a minimum of $5.00.
2. Students donate the earned money to Share Your Soles.
3. Students decorate and personalize their paper shoe and bring it school with the $5.00 donation. Paper shoes will be distributed Jan. 5 to all students.
4. Paper shoes will be displayed in the office window!
KEEP SAVING FRITO LAY BAGS AND CAPRI SUN JUICE POUCES TOO!!!
