You’re invited to join with family, friends, and neighbors to pack 50,000 meals of hope for hungry children and their families for Feed Our Community Day on Saturday, March 2nd.

Blythe Park PTA has reserved a table at each available time slot for Blythe Park families and friends to help pack meals for local families in need.

**NOTE: The PTA has made a donation for Blythe Park’s reserved tables. If you register through Hauser’s signup, you will have to pay the fee.

Bring the whole family to pack meals for the hungry. Anyone of any age can participate! Click on the following button to volunteer:

FREE – To Blythe Park families through the Blythe Park PTA volunteer signup ONLY. **NOTE: If you register through Hauser, you will have to pay the fee.

Attire:
Relaxed, comfortable clothes and footwear. Don’t forget to wear your Blythe Park spirit wear!

*Meals will be distributed locally to the hungry and food insecure in our community.

Volunteer spots are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays to help Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade students during their library time. 

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students.

Volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade will help students find books for checkout and then read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays –
AM Kindergarten: 8:30 – 8:50am
2nd Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
PM Kindergarten: 2:20 – 2:50pm

Thursdays –
1st Grade: 12:20 – 12:50pm

Blythe Park PTA Fun Lunch is THIS Friday, February 8th! The PTA will serve all students lunch at no cost to their families.

VOLUNTEER – To make this event a success, we’re still looking for volunteers to cook noodles or sauce, pick up balloons, set up, and serve (buffet style).

  • Pasta (buttered or with marinara)
  • Bread
  • Salad
  • Red grapes
  • Cherry Italian ice
  • Pink lemonade and water

Early Learners and Kindergarteners are invited to join us for lunch too! 

*NOTE: Early Learners and Kindergarteners must be accompanied by an adult guardian and have filled out the RSVP form (sent home in student backpacks).

Six Flags Reading Logs are due THIS FRIDAY (February 8th).

Every K-5th Grade Blythe Park student who completes six hours of recreational reading and submits a signed reading log by THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8th will receive one free admission ticket to a participating Six Flags Theme Park this summer.

K-5th Grade STUDENTS: Read for fun for a total of 6 hours, log your time and have your parent/guardian sign the reading log.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Print the reading log listed below and help track your child’s reading. Then sign the form and send it back to school or email to the School Coordinator: Jennifer Sloger at jensloger@gmail.com

*NOTE – Tickets are expected to arrive in May.

Hauser PTO’s Annual Pasta Dinner will be held on Tuesday, February 12th. Bring the whole family for pasta with sauce and meatballs, salad, fresh bread, and homemade dessert.

DATE – Tuesday, February 12th
TIME – 4:30pm-7:00pm
WHERE – Hauser Cafeteria

COST – Tickets are $5.00 per person if purchased by Friday, February 8th. 
Fifth graders and children age 5 and under are FREE with a paying adult. *NOTE: Tickets are $7 each after February 8th or at the door.

Talent Show Permission Slips are due Thursday, February 14th. Each talent show participant must fill out the following registration form and permission slip: Talent Show Permission Slip 2019

Talent Show Schedule

  • Act Presentations: Wed., Feb. 20th during lunchtime
  • Dress Rehearsal: Wed., Feb. 27th from 3:00pm-4:30pm 
  • Talent Show: Thurs., Feb 28th from 7-8:30pm

Requirements for participating in the show are as follows:

  • All acts are prepared and rehearsed by the child or group on their own time
  • All acts can be no longer than two minutes in length
  • Music needs to be approved by Mrs. Smith. If possible, please supply a copy of the music for the show.
  • Participants are responsible for supplying any props and costumes needed for their performance.
  • Each participant must submit a permission slip.
  • All acts must be presented to the Talent Show Committee during lunchtime on Feb. 20th.
  • All acts must attend the mandatory dress rehearsal.

VOLUNTEERS – Help make snowflakes, setup, donate treats, serve treats, supervise the dance floor and quiet room, and clean up.

The class with the highest number of valid Box Tops submitted through February 22nd will win a PIZZA PARTY for their class!

  • Box Tops can be turned in to the office at any time either in a baggie/envelope with the student’s name/grade (Kindergarten and Early Learners please identify whether it’s the AM or PM class) OR on collection sheets: Box Tops Collection Sheet
  • Be sure the Box Tops submitted are not expired (expired Box Tops do not count towards the contest).
