4th and 5th Grade Choir starts this TUESDAY!

Does your 4th or 5th grade child enjoy singing? Have them join the District 96 Choir. The Choir meets on Tuesdays in the Central Music Room and is looking for members for the 2018-2019 school year. Choir will begin Tuesday, September 11th.

Stephanie Roldan from Blissful Owl bring KIDS Yoga to Blythe Park. Classes will be held every Wednesday from 3:00-3:45pm in the Blythe Park Gym for boys and girls in Kindergarten – 5th Grade.

Fall Parent Night is this Thursday, September 13th beginning in the auditorium with a presentation by Principal Casimira Gorman. After her presentation, parents will head to their child’s classroom for a presentation by their teacher.

Fall Parent Night (each session starts in Blythe auditorium) –
Early Childhood: 5:45pm – 7:15pm
Kindergarten – 5th Grade: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Consider serving as a Room Parent for your child’s class for the 2018-2019 school year!

If you would like to be considered for a Room Parent position, sign-ups will be accepted until this Friday, September 14th.

*NOTE: Two room parents per grade level will be selected at random. Selected room parents will be notified by September 17th.

Duties include:

  • Serving as liaison between PTA and classroom families. Informing parents of PTA meetings and other school activities.
  • Working with teachers as needed and assisting class parties/activities.
  • Collecting for holiday and year-end gifts for teachers.
  • Help with the following events: Halloween Celebrations, Fun Lunch, Teacher Appreciation Week and ACES Walk.
  • If needed, assist in volunteer recruitment for events with large number of volunteers needed.

Yarn Donations needed for Blythe Park Community Artwork.

Blythe Park students and staff will be creating a community art piece to be displayed during the Rainbow Run.

The staff is in need of skeins of yarn in the following colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet

If you would like to donate yarn for this project, please send donations to school with your student.

Yarn donations will be collected through Monday, September 17th.

Volunteer spots are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays to help Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students during their library time. 

Volunteers for Kindergarten will have the opportunity to read to the students.

Volunteers for 1st and 2nd grade will help students find books for checkout and then read to the students.

Following is the library schedule for K, 1st, and 2nd grade:

Wednesdays (starting September 19th)
AM Kindergarten: 8:30 – 8:50am
2nd Grade: 1:50 – 2:20pm
PM Kindergarten: 2:20 – 2:50pm

Calling all dramatic parents! We are in need of parent volunteers for this year’s Halloween production!

Be a part of a unique Blythe Park tradition! Blythe Park parents/guardians will perform a short play for students during their Halloween celebration on Wednesday, October 31st. (The students love seeing their family members onstage and look forward to the play every year!)

The PTA is looking for parent volunteers to help serve students during Hot Lunch.

Hot Lunch is a special meal organized by the PTA and served by parent volunteers one Friday a month.

Many parents enjoy this opportunity and serving lunch is an easy way to give something back to the school and to be a part of your child’s school experience. *You do not have to commit to the entire schedule, volunteer for as many or as few lunches as you are available.

Volunteer to help paint brightly colored games and activities on the Blythe Park parking lot black top!

This project is coordinated by a local Girl Scout earning her Silver Award. To complete her project she needs adult and student volunteers (5th grade and older only) to help paint stencils of games and activities on the parking lot black top.

*NOTE: Painting supplies, stencils and instruction will be provided.
